The flix for me louie, ive used both and the flix seem really comfortable to me and more durable!
I can seem to control the dynamics more easily with them as well !

I?m using the hot rods for some tunes when playing on weddings or parties and i find them really cool. It think that is a good way to make your groove a little more breathy (?).
I could not play and entire gig with those, but again, it?s cool to use them like a different tool.

i use flair stics and blastics, hot rods are not soft enough to be quiet.

At the Chick Corea Akoustic show in Montreal, Weckl was using Vic Firth "Rutes" quite a bit. (I think they were 303's, the ones with 7 dowels)

I bought a pair, and have found that they feel really good.

I have hot/rute type sticks and blastics... Keep in mind that they feel way different than sticks...

I use Regal Tip Flares for stuff that's louder than brushes and Hot Rods for stuff louder than the Flares. The Hot Rods sound better on cymbals.

I've trashed my kit on smaller jobs. My Cajon + a small arsenal of other percusion effects!

Woul really recommend you HOD'ers to get a Cajon for quieter gigs, don't need to trash the whole kit as i've done. It's most for transport issues, if it was economic possible to transport the kit too, i would have done that too [img]smile.gif[/img]
